Construction Period Works have commenced in June 2006 and will be completed by March 2007.
Project Description Expansion of the Correctional Centre at Wacol to develop the Centre into the Remand correctional facility for south-east Queensland. The project includes a 180 Cell accommodation expansion, expansion of Visiting and Prisoner Property facilities and provision of maintenance facilities.
TOWNSVILLE WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL CENTRE

Construction Period Construction targeted to commence October 2006, completion by March 2008.
Project Description New, stand-alone, 154-bed prison to be built within the precinct of the existing Men's Correctional Centre in Townsville. Planning and design of capital works for this prison will run in parallel to that of Townsville Men's Correctional Centre Expansion (Please see below).

SIR DAVID LONGLAND CORRECTIONAL CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION

Construction Period Construction is estimated to take 20 months. The prison is expected to be operating in 2007.
Project Description Redevelopment and expansion of the Correctional Centre at Wacol to develop the Centre into the reception correctional facility for south-east Queensland. The project includes a 300 Cell accommodation expansion and redevelopment of existing buildings for Central Kitchen, Prisoner Processing and educational facilities.
